The purpose of this job is to perform biodiesel operational maintenance functions in order to benefit internal and external customers of Renewable Energy Group (REG), ensuring quality biodiesel production, while maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept facilities.
Essential Functions:
Maintain the processing and utilities equipment at the biodiesel plant to be operational at all times.
Perform general facility maintenance and housekeeping, including equipment inspection and monitoring throughout the facility.
Order repair parts as needed for maintenance projects or breakdowns.
Maintain up-to-date critical parts inventory.
Assist with the coordination/completion of contracted and in-house repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls
Actively research potential upgrades and fine-tuning of the existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency availability and reporting
Work closely with Maintenance Supervisor, engineering group and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects
Learn to operate the biodiesel master computer system. Includes operations of the main master control, loadout and oil filtering system along with recording data and generating system reports on a timely basis.
Learn and perform loadout functions when necessary, which include preparing trucks and rail cars for shipment and loading products (oil, meal, and specialty oil) by rail and truck.
Operate and maintain fork truck, rail moving equipment as well as all systems equipment in processing.
Perform various quality control functions including operation of lab equipment for meal, oil, and water, visual inspection of all types of inventory, and measuring physical inventory on a periodic basis.
Assist with manufacturing, packaging, and loadout of specialty oil products
Greet all customers at the facility
Perform boiler operation and maintenance
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Education Required : High school diploma or equivalent, 2 year technical degree in industrial or electrical maintenance or comparable experience preferred
Experience Required : Maintenance troubleshooting experience required including: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and spare parts inventory.
Skills Required : General knowledge of computers, advanced mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Welding skills required. Valid Driver?s License and acceptable driving record.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
